Pay off your library fines with food! Clean out your cupboards before leaving for the holiday AND clean up your library debt at the same time.

    Donate 1 food item: Subtract 50 cents in late fees
    Donate a special item: Subtract $3 from your late fees

All food donated will be given to local food banks.
All donations are greatly appreciated!



BIG READ: Birds of Prey

The BIG READ is an initative of the National Endowment for the Arts designed to restore reading to the center of American culture. The NEA presents the Big Read in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and in cooperation with Arts Midwest.



Family Reading Night Carnival
Thursday, November 20, 5:30-7:00 pm

The entire family is invited to our library carnival for games, free books, and food:
     Hot Dogs: 25 cents
     Pop: 25 cents
     Free Cake!

Also look for Rock Falls Public Library at "Hometown Holidays:"
     Friday night, November 21: library booth downtown
     Saturday, November 22: craft table at Merrill School

Note: Only non-perishable, undamaged, unexpired, labeled items will be accepted.

Fines will be waived for each donation from the following list of acceptable items:

  • canned fruits or vegetables
  • dried potato mixes
  • bars of soap
  • jelly
  • cake mixes
  • any type of paper products
  • soup
  • boxed pasta
  • peanut butter
  • shapoo
  • conditioner

The following items are worth $3.00 in fines:

  • cleaning products
  • laundry soap
  • cereal
  • boxed complete dinners
